3rd Legacy Charity Gala

The third annual Legacy Gala was held on March 24, at Casa Del Mar Hotel in Santa Monica. The Legacy Event awarded two nonprofit children’s charities that live out their legacy annually and is supported by celebrities and visionaries from Hollywood and around the globe.

Whispers from Children’s Hearts Foundationspecializes in supporting the emotional and spiritual needs of children’s hearts with music, theatre, and singing. An illustrious line up of the evening’s Legacy Luminaries included Maria Conchita Alonso performing, recording artist Emmanuel Kelly, comedian Kathy Buckley, Panamanian recording star, Richard Rodriguez, celebrity designer Sue Wong, actress Alice Amter (Big Bang Theory) and former back up dancer (Prince, Michael Jackson) and now transformational life coach, Andre Paradis.

The 2017 Legacy Awards recipients receiving a check for $10,000 from the foundation included Akuyoe Graham, founder of the Spiritual Awakening Foundation, dedicated to assisting “at-risk” youth and children in the juvenile justice system in the realization of their spiritual identity and Rickie Byars Beckwith, founder of Kuumba in Motion, an innovative learning academy that nurtures the creative genius within children by inviting them to participate in an education centered on their unique way of learning.

A unique highlight for this year, was the presentation of a Special Proclamation from the City of Los Angeles acknowledging the co-hosts, Lisa Haisha and Lee Aronsohn for their efforts in shining a spotlight and supporting the various children’s charities.
